Suarez Fuentes, M.D.
Dr. Christian Suarez-Fuentes is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and has been in private practice with Miami Kidney Group since 2016. He obtains his medical degree in San Juan Bautista School of Medicine, in Puerto Rico with honors in summa cum laude. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Nephrology Fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York. Dr. Suarez is also certified in kidney transplantation by the American Society of Nephrology and American Society of Transplant Surgeons.

During his fellowship, Dr. Suarez was awarded by the Leo M. Davidoff Award for outstanding Achievement in teaching medical students. He also had an abstract selected by the American Journal of Kidney disease blog in 2015 and National Kidney Foundation news.

Dr. Suarez served as medical director for medical volunteer mission for Puerto Rico Disaster relief. He and his group helped over 800 patients in two medical missions to his home town, Puerto Rico.
​
Dr. Suarez interests include kidney transplantation, management and prevention of the progression of chronic kidney disease, glomerular diseases, and all modalities of dialysis, including peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis.

Dr. Suarez volunteers as a Clinical Assistant professor in the department of Medicine for Florida Internal University and has an active medical license in the states of New York and Florida and is fluent in English and Spanish.
